Training is required to umpire in LSBA -LSBA provides free training for all potential and returning umpires. This training is MANDATORY for all umpires who work for LSBA and are required to pass all requirements before they are assigned games. 1st and 4th year umpires must attend three classroom training sessions and one weekend of field training. Managers and coaches are always welcome to attend and observe any and all parts of the umpire training program.

If you plan to work for LSBA as an umpire, you must attend the class room and field training if you are a 1st through 4th year umpire. You must register for these classes by using the link above.

1st and 4th year umpires are required to attend the entire weekend of On-Field training sessions, this is mandatory, no exceptions.
On-field training is REQUIRED to umpire for L.S. Baseball.
On-field training will be held at Legacy Park as long as it is not raining or snowing and the temperatures are above 50 degrees. If we cancel training or move the location of the training, we will put it on the L.S. Baseball rainout line which is 816 757-2500. It would be a good idea to check rainout line every day before you leave for training.
Please dress warm and bring your own drinks and lunch as none will be available at the ball park. We will break at 12pm till 1pm on Saturdays for lunch.
Wear your complete umpire uniform and bring all your umpire equipment as we will be having live game simulation that you will be working behind the plate.
